The Kenya Sugar Board has published the July 2026 Sugar Market Highlights, providing a concise overview of the key developments that shaped Kenya’s sugar industry during the month. The publication brings together the latest information on sugarcane milling, sugar production, molasses performance, local sugar prices, foreign trade and global sugar market trends, giving stakeholders a quick and accessible view of industry performance.

July recorded continued growth in milling and production, with 1.01 million metric tonnes of sugarcane milled and bagged sugar production rising to 91,022 metric tonnes. Miller sales also increased during the month, while sugar closing stocks grew by 14.3%. Cumulatively, 5.94 million metric tonnes of cane were processed between January and July 2026, representing a 44.2% increase compared with the same period in 2025.

The highlights also capture developments across the wider market.
